14 Peaks Nothing is Impossible

Introduction:

14 peaks Nothing is Impossible, is an inspirational documentary movie directed by Torquill Jones. The starring character that played a main role was Nirmal Purja commonly known by his nickname, Nims dai. The name of the project he led was “Project possible.”

Summary:

“Don’t be afraid to dream big “ begins with a display on the screen mentioned by Nim dai. He leads a group of teams to dare to summit the whole 14 peaks in just six months and six days. Similarly,  this movie is based on the reality of all the nepalese climbers who intend to climb up with all their strengths and hopes. It was about enduring dreadful risks and challenging himself and choosing  between life and death.

Nirmal is not only an exceptional athlete but he is also a great leader and a great motivator.  He always finds a way to inspire his crew with kindness, love and compassion.  He keeps trying to build lots of positive memories with the team and brings everyone together for a tough climbing journey. He does not care for himself no matter how tired he is or how much energy he has left, he would just go extra miles to help climbers who get in trouble. His selfless devotion towards someone, caring nature for others, his joy, his determination to pursue his goals, inspires his team to do their best in the journey.

The movie’s main motto was to tell the world that nothing is possible if you long to do things in life. The difficulty of accomplishment cannot be understated. People may find you stupid but we just focus on our work, our mission and goal in life. It was about the blend of human emotion you get, perseverance and leadership you learn.

Critique:

I found this movie breathtaking and fascinating! The view was marvelous. It was successful in grabbing everyone’s attention. I really like when Nims dai says, ‘’The mountains don’t say you’re black, you’re white, you’re strong, or you’re weak, it’s only one rule for everybody, if you give up you die.’’ It gave me goosebumps. I found it extremely powerful. Likewise, I just love what he mentioned at the end, “if it were any western people to finish the project possible the news would have gotten 10 times bigger than this.” I found it relatable when it comes to nepalese people. Nepalese don’t get the respect that they deserve. However, I’m also appreciative of the fact that the filmmakers highlighted just how important Sherpas are and gave them the recognition they truly deserve as incredible mountaineers. I feel so proud that this movie has played a great role in boosting up the mountaineering sector. Focusing on the backstory and visually expressing how intense climbing those mountains really is just wow. Finally, his moral strength is so strong and it was truly inspiring for every viewer.

Recommendation:

I definitely want to recommend “Nothing is Impossible” to the whole world. It is thrilling to see a feature length film dedicated to Nepalese climbers, and Nims in particular. This is a must watch movie that has collected a real power to motivate you. The overall film work is gorgeous, the story is super great, and I really hope it receives a world wide audience to provide people a better glimpse into the incredible Nepalese culture. Of course, the movie deserves much more than this!
